EMDR Consultation for Therapists

Moving from Protocol to Presence

Group Sessions

Many clinicians leave EMDR basic training feeling both inspired and uncertain. The eight phases are powerful—but translating them into real clinical work can feel complicated.

My consultation groups are designed to help clinicians expand upon how we follow the protocol by way of understanding the clinical reasoning behind it, so that EMDR becomes flexible, embodied, and responsive to the people sitting in front of you.

As an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training, I provide consultation hours that may count toward EMDR certification in accordance with EMDRIA guidelines.

Consultation focuses on strengthening your ability to:
• conceptualize cases through the
8-phase model
• assess readiness and stabilization
• identify and sequence targets
• integrate attachment, parts work, and somatic awareness
• maintain ethical pacing when working with complex trauma

My teaching style combines clinical depth with experiential learning, drawing from expressive therapies, role exploration, and relational supervision models.

Two consultation groups are currently forming!

Sex, Intimacy, and Self-Care: Beneath Presenting Concerns in EMDR

This group is designed for clinicians who have completed EMDR basic training and are asking:

• How do I apply the phases with real clients?
• What do I do when clients get stuck?
• How do I adapt the protocol without abandoning it?

Together, we will explore the eight phases through case discussion, clinical reasoning, and creative integration. The goal is to help clinicians feel more connected to the protocol while remaining open to the reality that we all analyze and conceptualize concepts in a variety of ways. Let's make the protocol work with your style of cognition!

Topics may include:
• flexible resourcing strategies
• recognizing readiness vs overwhelm
• understanding the applications of EMDR for relational trauma
• integrating parts work and attachment frameworks

Many trauma presentations involve unspoken themes around sexuality, intimacy, shame, body image, and relational safety.

This consultation group focuses on identifying and working with these deeper themes within EMDR treatment planning.

We will explore:
• sexual trauma and relational trauma targets
• shame and identity in memory networks
• body-based triggers and dissociation
• clinician self-awareness and ethical care when working with intimacy-related material

This group is especially relevant for clinicians interested in integrating EMDR with relational, attachment-focused, and sex-positive frameworks.

FAQs

How long are the groups?

Each group is two hours in length, meaning you can receive your 10 hours within one cohort! We are also pacing our groups every two weeks to give you time to integrate the skills learned.

If you'd like more time and insight, let's chat about Individual Consultation.

Who can join sessions?

If you have completed your basic training (including the 10 hours of supervision, which does not count towards the 20 hours) from am EMDRIA approved program, you are an eligible candidate.

The next step would be an online interview with Dr. Robinson.

How do group consultations work?

Group consultations focus on shared experiences with step-by-step guidance tailored to your needs. Each group has a topic that we'll build around both didactically and with case conceptualizations.

Groups are cohort based and will recur on the dates posted. If you'd like an Individual Consultation, feel free to connect with me at info@yourheartsdesiretw.com.
